LIMBO: Heaven on Earth, because Earth is the hell

Nothing is better than combining the duality, complexity, and correspondence between heaven and hell through sex. On the one hand, sex gives us heavenly pressure. People often refer to “reaching heaven” when one experiences orgasms. Sex, or making love, symbolizes the heavenly merge of two (or more) human beings. It is a celebration of affection, happiness, and procreation. Sex, especially sexual acts deemed sinful by society, is often associated with hell. For example, before gay sex was legalized, people often associated homosexual sexual acts with damnation by God and the inevitable fate of being sent to Hell in our afterlife. The lust, desire, and passion of sex itself become a portrayal of what a moraless hell looks like. By employing sex as an embodiment of heaven and hell, we want to toy with morality and how people’s perceptions and prejudices ultimately define what “heaven” and “hell” are.
