We had the honor of working on a campaign for Friends At Mafundi (FAM), an NGO deeply rooted in Watts, Los Angeles, known for its rich legacy and active community involvement. Our dedicated team worked tirelessly and continuously in 10 weeks to elevate FAM's leadership and enhance its reputation.

One of FAM's significant accomplishments was saving the Mafundi Building from demolition, a pivotal step in preserving the heart of the community. Watts has a long-standing artistic history dating back to the 1965 uprising, with groups like the Mafundi Institute and Watts Prophets significantly shaping its cultural identity. However, today, this vibrant artistic heritage often takes a back seat to negative stereotypes about the neighborhood.
The only prominent construction done after the 1965 Watt uprising - The Mafundi building is a simple two-story building representing the time it was built and its relation to the history of the Black community. The Mafundi building is not just any regular center but a symbol of African Americans' hope, unity, and perseverance; a historical landmark that narrates the story of their struggles and conveys an important message to everyone within and outside the community.
